Welcome to Weekend #12
One of the things I love most about Grapes & Greens is meeting fascinating people from the worlds of golf, wine, travel and luxury hospitality.
But what happens when the podcast recording ends?
The best conversations deserve to go further, reaching new audiences and finding new ways to tell their stories.
That's exactly what we're achieving through our growing collaboration with The First Cut Journal.
Bringing Podcasts and Print Together

I've always believed that digital and traditional print media have a huge amount to offer one another.
Podcasts give us the opportunity to hear directly from the people behind remarkable businesses, brands and destinations. A beautifully produced print journal offers something different: the chance to sit back, explore those stories and enjoy them at your own pace.
Our relationship with The First Cut began when we welcomed the team onto Episode 3 of Series 2 of the Grapes & Greens podcast.
What started as a conversation has since developed into a fantastic working relationship.
From Our Podcast to Their Pages

The First Cut has now published its seventh journal, and we're delighted that two of our podcast guests have subsequently appeared in its pages.
Rob Tankard, UK Managing Director of J.Lindeberg, and David Ashington of Costa Navarino have both joined us on Grapes & Greens before being featured in The First Cut Journal.
From international golf fashion to one of Europe's most exciting golf and lifestyle destinations, these are exactly the kinds of stories we love sharing.
And it's wonderful to see them reaching readers in a completely different format.
What's Next?

We're already working together on the eighth journal, with plenty of exciting opportunities ahead.
There is real potential to introduce more podcast guests, share new stories and continue bringing our audiences together.
A big thank you to Glenn, Stuart and Alex for their enthusiasm, creativity and for being such great people to work with.
I genuinely believe digital and print media should complement one another rather than compete.
Together, we can give great conversations a longer life.
Discover The First Cut Journal

If you haven't discovered The First Cut Journal yet, I would thoroughly recommend it.
It's a fantastic publication celebrating golf, storytelling and the people, places and businesses that make the game special.
You can purchase individual editions or subscribe annually to receive four journals for £60, including delivery.
Here's to the seventh journal, the eighth in progress and many more great collaborations ahead!

A Taste of Something New: Discover the World of Wine with Gusbourne

From the vineyard to the classroom, our wine partner is creating new ways to enjoy and understand great wine.
What if your next great wine experience involved more than simply opening a bottle?
What if you could learn about the wines you enjoy, discover what makes them special and even earn an internationally recognised qualification?
Our wine partner, Gusbourne, has created an experience that does exactly that.
Wine Education, the Gusbourne Way

On Sunday 15 November 2026, Gusbourne is offering its members the opportunity to take part in the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines, hosted at its beautiful estate in Kent.
The experience brings together wine education, exceptional food and, of course, some wonderful wines.
The day includes:
An introduction to wine through the WSET Level 1 curriculum, guided by a Gusbourne ambassador.
A light lunch before the WSET examination.
A celebratory three-course dinner, expertly paired with Gusbourne wines.
It's a brilliant way to make wine education accessible, enjoyable and sociable.
Bringing Golf and Wine Closer Together
At Grapes & Greens, we've always seen a natural connection between golf and wine.
Both are about experiences, discovery, shared interests and the people we meet along the way.
Understanding grape varieties, winemaking techniques and what makes a wine special can add another dimension to the experience, whether you're enjoying a glass at home, in the clubhouse or over dinner with friends.
And that's something we'd love to bring to our own community.
Looking Ahead to 2027
We're exploring opportunities to introduce Grapes & Greens wine education experiences in 2027.
Our ambition is to offer our audience and golf club communities access to wine tastings, educational events and potentially WSET qualifications in some exceptional locations.
It's still early days, but we're excited about what might be possible.
After all, golf is a game of lifelong learning.
Why shouldn't wine be the same?
We'll share more as our plans develop.
In the meantime, congratulations to Gusbourne for creating such an appealing experience for its members.
More great stories, experiences and discoveries coming soon from Grapes & Greens.
