Great golf deserves a great celebration. And sometimes, one bottle simply isn't enough.

As it turns out, bigger really can be better.
Why Size Matters
A magnum contains 1.5 litres of wine, equivalent to two standard bottles.
But its appeal goes well beyond having more to share.
For sparkling wines in particular, magnums can offer a distinct advantage when it comes to ageing.
Laura Rhys, Master Sommelier and Gusbourne Brand Ambassador, explains:
“When you age in a magnum, the wine-to-cork ratio is different from that of a standard bottle. Magnums age wine more slowly, and for that reason I prefer the magnum, especially with sparkling wine.”
The science is surprisingly simple.
Over time, tiny amounts of oxygen can pass through a bottle's closure, influencing the way wine develops.
Because a magnum contains twice the wine of a standard bottle, the relative impact of that oxygen is reduced
